Poor minivan. It’s the butt of jokes, the mom jeans of cars, the badge of parent-shleppers everywhere. Robin is not thrilled about being the owner of one. She explains:
So I never thought of myself as a minivan mom. I thought I would never be caught dead in one. And yet…..I drive a minivan. It’s nice enough – a 2007 Honda Odyssey, power-everything, heated seats, lots of bells and whistles. Ever since I got this car, I have not loved feeling like a frumpy soccer mom in a minivan, even though the car is actually pretty nice for carpools, skiing and other family things. The great thing is as of next month – fully paid for! No more car payments.
But still, I dream of a super cool SUV – like the Audi Quattro, a sleek car for a “cool mom.” So I waffle – keep the fully-paid-for minivan that is still in great condition but uncool, or succumb to another car payment and get a cool-mom car?
Here’s Robin’s current minivan:
Here’s the Audi Quattro, which fits 7:
